How long before 250+GB Portable Players?

Ok so ive ran into a few hacked RIO Karmas that were running 100GB harddrives flawlessly. My question is, realistically, how long before manufacturers produce portable players the size of (or smaller) of an Ipod with 250+GB HD and a decent battery life?

i dont there is enough market potential for players with drives that masive, i mean ther must be very few people with music collections that large. and unless your'e after a very expensive portable hard drive i dont see any reason for the public wanting them

This is what people said about the first 5+GB archos and creative players. Im sure people are saying that about the Ipod Photo today.. If you think about it, 250GB of lossless music isnt much. Obviously a portable player sporting 250+GB of space would also be used as a portable HD for other files.

250GB capacity is only a few years away, I think. But when organic memory players come into existence a few years after that, 250GB will be the extreme low end of the scale. I made a thread about this topic in Future iPod, if you want to read...

I think that since most people don't even have 20gb of music, the capacities of players won't be the issue, the size will. I'm thinking the ipods of the future will be very small compared to now(not so small that it starts sacrificing screen space, but think about the current ipod with the edges just around the screen and just over 1cm in depth. While HD densities keep going up I think player sizes will keep going down(compare a microdrive player like the creative zen micro to the original 5gb ipod).
