Dock Sound Check

I noticed that when using the Line Out through my Dock, or when using the iPod with my inMotion, the Volume check doesn't work, resulting in jumping Song volumes where i always have to go adjust the setting. Is there any remedy for this?

When using line-out on the dock, I think you can only change the volume using your stereo (or whatever it's connected to) and not on the iPod itself.

The line-out on the dock is a line-level output, meaning it is not controlled by the settings on your iPod. EQ should work, but the sound-check feature is tied to the iPod's headphone port. If you have a decent receiver, it should have a sound-check type feature... check there. If not, then yes, it's just gunna be annoying.

I plan on connecting my iPod to my 5.1 speakers instead of my stereo. They're computer speakers so they're active (have their own amp). Should I use the headphone jack or buy a dock so I can use line-out?

i dont know if anyone else has noticed, but it seems that Sound Check works thru the dock connector now too.

well if you use the belkin adapter or something similar that has a preamp, then it does make a difference.
