usb 1.0 or 2.0 what fo I have ?

I could be seen as a very stupid guy but please help me... I want to buy a Ipod next week, after christmas and I know that it only work with 1.0 and 2.0 usb or firewire... I own a 3 years old computer and I use winXP but I don't know if my usb is a 1.0 one or a 2.0 one ? how could I know that ? I really don't know anything aout computer, a kind of rookie you know...thx for your help poddies !!

go to start menu>control panel>system>hardware>device manager> usb controller if it says enhanced controller it is more than likely usb 2.0 sometiems it will say usb 2.0 clearly

Welcome to the lounge. Go to my computer and right click, select manage>disk management. Go down to Universal Serial bus and click on the + to open. Look and see if you see something that says "Enhanced". If you do, you have USB 2.0, if you don't, you have 1.0.honeybee1236 at 2007-11-15 13:46:53 >

yuo can also see on startup, or in the bios.OR download a program such as sandra lite and look at the motherboard specs
