USB 1.1

Is it possible to use USB 1.1 with an ipod and just have a slow transfer rate? I am wondering this because i would like to use my ipod as a storage device for documents for school but my school's computers aren't blessed with Firewire or USB 2.0.

the data rate for USB 1.1 is 12kbps, it is possible to use an iPod with it, many people around these forums use their iPod's with USB 1.1, although it may not charge the iPod because it doesn't supply enough power therefore anytime you update it will be using the battery

thanks, i wouldnt need to charge it on account of it wouldnt be connected for that long becuase it will just be 1 or 2 page docs

one more question, would i need to install anything onto the other computers to take it from my ipod onto the computer?
