IPOD scrolls through without playing songs

In some random number of cases albums I have copied onto my ipod from cds and itunes and real scroll through all the songs on the cd without playing any of them. Is this a hard drive problem or a software problem and is there a way to fix it?

Welcome to the lounge. Here are some troubleshooting tips from Apple support you can try ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61018).If none work then I would suggest that you restore the iPod but back up your music since this will erase the iPod's music.
