Using Ipod as hard disk
This is probably a stupid question...but here it goes.
I use my Ipod (4G 20 GB) at home and everything is fine. I want to use it at work as a Hard Disk so I can transfer file between 2 computers at work (both work and home are Windows XP). I manually set the Ipod to "disk mode" and plugged the USB2.0 into my work computer but it was not recognize...meaning I couldn't see an "ipod" folder anywhere.
Do I need to have Itunes on my work computer in order to use it as a hard disk? If not, any idea why I can't see the Ipod folder when plugged in? (The work computer recognizes it as a mass storage device, and gives me the option to eject...just no folder)
Thanks!

Yes, all are PCs. At home I have Windows XP and Itunes on the PC...the Ipod syncs up and everything works normally.
At work I have two PC's...the old one runs on Windows NT and the new one runs XP (we recently received new computers and upgraded to XP). So I need to transfer some files from the old NT PC at work, to the new XP PC at work. Neither of these 2 have Itunes...which I hoped I wouldn't need, but I'm not sure as neither work PC recognized my Ipod.
Thanks!

try resetting it so it isn't in disk mode and plug in again. This is how I use mine as HD. and it shows up in Win98 and WinXP. Sometimes it takes afew tries and I do not use iTunes on some of the computers so that is not an issue to worry about.
