Gaps Between Tracks

hello all,

I have recently got an Ipod Mini, I must say I am really impressed. I have a problem which I hope someone can help me with.

I have copied over some dance CD's on which all the tracks are mixed togather, when I play them on the Ipod it puts a small gap in between each track which disrupts the music, is it possible to do anything to get rid of this gap and return to the music being mixed togather.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Ah.... one of the top iPod "complaints".....

Here is the best answer from "honeybee1236" found at the thread shown:

The closest I've come to gapless playback on the iPod is to change the stop time on the songs in my mix playlist so that there are no gaps between the songs.

I right click on the song and click on 'get info' and click on the tab 'options' and then go down to stop time and change it:

example: Lazy Hip by Live Human 22:33.514 changed to actual time of 4:33.514 then click 'ok' to close. The time that's showing will not change in iTunes but the song will play for the allowed time I set it to play. I tranfered the song to the iPod and it played for 4:33 not the 22:33 it use to play for. The rest of that time was just dead air. After it plays for 4:33 it goes to the next song.

I made a mix playlist and changed the time of each song in the list: I played the song in iTunes and fast forwarded the song to the end and watch the time to see and listen to when it ends and note the time. Then I go in and change the stop time to the last note played. If the song time is 4:35 and the song stops playing music at 4:33 then I change the stop time to the 4:33 so after that the next song will immediatlely play without the silence in between. It works but it is time consuming to sit down and do this. It's rainy day stuff to do. The last 3 numbers on the time I do not change this at all.

I currently have 4,909 songs to do, maybe someday. Hopefully Apple will change this and give us crossfading like in the party shuffle on the iPod.

The join CD is done by:
Putting the CD on and before you import it first highlight the tracks to be joined and go to 'advance' and click on join CD and it will record as one track and be recorded into iTunes as one large track. I just listened to the tracks and it played without any gaps doing it this way.
