freezing after connecting

i have a 15 ipod and have had it for about 6 months. it has worked perfect since then but just recently ive been having troubles. every time i connect it to my pc using the 4 pin fire wire converter and dock the second i plug it in it freezes. i unplug it and hold menu and play/pause to restart it and even after that it still freezes when i plug it in. my computer wont recognize it either. its works when its charging though. can i get some help? thnaks.

hey there, I had made this suggestion to someone else that was having a problem with their iPod freezing...to reset, it's the menu button and the center button, not the play/pause button...hope this helpsizziippi at 2007-11-15 13:45:54 >

for the model i have to reset its play/pause and menu but the problem is that even when i do reset it when every i connect it to my comp it always freezes.KRo at 2007-11-15 13:46:56 >

i am having the exact same problem but running on a mac...litterally as soon as the pod is docked the machine freezes up and needs a restart... no reset etc has helped.
i think many people are experiencing this recently, and no one seems to be able to shed any light on it or help out... if you do find a solution be sure to let us know
