Using the Ipod and another mp3 players line in.

Hi everybody, I haven't posted anything in a long time. Anyway...

I own an ipod (20gb 3g) and I want to buy a flash mp3 player to bring on ski trips and other outdoor activities, probably one of those new jet audio g3's. Skiing with a hard drive in your pocket is not smart, even though i'm pretty good.

My question is can I use another player's line in to record new music from another source like an ipod? What i was thinking was bring both with me on my week-long trips and if i got tired skiing to the same tunes i could delete the sonds on my flash mp3 player and record some new stuff to take out on the slopes, without using a computer. I'm sure i'm going to need some special cable and expect a loss of sound quality, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

As IPatH said, just take your iPod w/ you. Of course, you should probably buy a case like iPod Armor to protect your iPod ;)

To answer the question, yes, you can record directly from the iPod using the line in on your iAudio (btw those G3's do look pretty sweet, and 50 hours of battery life, whoo :)) I'm sure the iAudio comes with the line-in cable, and sound quality wise, it should be no different than ripping from a standard computer application like iTunes.

yeah you can it is really simple for all the flash mp3 player that have otf delete.

All you need is a male to male line out/in cable. hook it up to your ipod's headphone jack and just hit the play button and hit the record button on your flash player.

Yeah jogging or doing anything physically demmanding other than driving (my extreme sport) with your ipod is bad for the hd no matter how much protection you have with a case because the hardrive can form errors or just die from the bouncing/bumping.

I have a iriver 380t flash player and I use that for biking. I was afraid of what would happen if it fell out of my pocket was I was flying down the trails in GA. Helen Ga is the best place to mountain bike everrrrrrr.
