Speakers Makes Poppin Crackling Sound

I know this is a minor prob compared to the rest of the people here. But everytime I plug a speaker to my 40 GB ipod some sounds "not all" makes popping or crackling sounds. I switched the speakers 4 times already and still can't figure it out. Is it the songs themselves? I also noticed when I use the scroller to go to the main menu the crackling stops. Could it be the ipod? Please help.

is it ur headphones or a different speaker if it is ok with ur ipod headphones then it is just the speaker also try turning the sound down when u are playing the ipod because sometimes when it is loud it can distort it.

I finally fixed the problem. I will tell you all I replaced and what I think was the problem.

Since my computer was getting outdated (even with XP Pro) I installed a new motherboard and hard drive. The popping and click was still there. Until I installed a new CD/DVD Drive. The one I had before was only 16X and my new one was a 52X in speed. After I installed that everything was perfect! So I think if you have an old CD-Rom or one that has a slow speed, you may want to think about getting a faster/newer one.

It fixed my problem.
