i have a problem with my ipod and thats why im here. I have tried searching for a solution and couldnt find anything close to what im needing.

My ipod recently decided to make a habit of crashing and resetting on start up, EVERY TIME. This was very annoying. I left it alone for a week and hoped it would stop doing whatever it was doing wrong, mistakenly!!

i put it into "disk mode" and was able to restore my ipod. I was quite relieved, everything seemed like it was back ot normal, then after putting on about 2 gb worth of songs it ground to a halt and stopped, itunes stopped the "copying..." message and acted as though nothing was wrong.

I unplugged it and tried to play songs but there were none there! If i have less than 1.8gb worth of songs it seems to work ok, but my collection is more than ten times that size. I didnt buy a 40gb ipod to end up with an ipod mini!

Can anyone help?

One thing to add is this is not a new ipod, i bought it for ??400 when 40gb ipods were the new stuff. I have had it for 14 months and have used it almost everyday, from full to empty battery charge. It has been many places and although iv looked after it it is starting to look a bit worn.
