Hi,

I'm new here. I just got my iPod mini 2 days ago. I have an "old" PC with USB 1.1 only. I'm waiting for my USB 2.0 PCI card so in the meantime I decided to try the iPod with USB 1.1. I think that it works pretty well. I had no problems formatting, updating and uploading songs to it. I didn't time the transfer but I'd say it takes me an average of 5 or 6 seconds to transfer a 4MB song. I think it works pretty well. I can't wait to see the speed with a USB 2.0.

I'm using USB 1.1 also and i've had no problems, this was one of my concerns before buying the ipod but i was actually surprised by how fast it was.

My laptop has 4 USB 1.1 ports and a firewire (but its port is really small).

Anyhow I don't think USB 1.1 is good for charging.
