40 gig + Digital camera ?

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hello all, this is my first post. I've spent over 5 hours scouring this site getting to know how it operates and to absorb as much info as I could retain. You people have a fantastic and very informative site!! I've enjoyed reading what all of you iLoungers have written.

I have just purchased a 40 gig iPod($367 from Amazon). My main reason for opting for the bigger hard drive is because of my hope that when I go to Europe for a month, I can take tons of pictures with my digital camera and just empty my memory card right into the iPod. I'm really hoping this can be done easily. I would greatly appreciate it if somone could shed some light as to exactly how this works. Is it simple, or do I need lots of gadgetry to get it done. Have any of you used you iPod for storage for your digital cameras memory card?? Thanks in advance:)

there are acessories from Belkin that either read media cards or plug in ur camera. the thing is, theres no way to check ur pictures so you dont know that they're actually there. The ipod photo doesnt do much to solve this problem either because you cant view the photos transfered from the belkin accessory and only from itunes.

If i were you, i'd get a laptop with wifi, europe has lots of hot spots so its convinient to check for tourist info and stuff, plus its got a huge display and bigger hd, and it isnt that heavy.

Anyways, the belkin is something you might wanta look at but like i said, this is a trip to europe (once in a lifetime) so u wanta make sure ur photos are on there.

You can just do it the easy way.

Hook you cam into the pc, drag all the photos on to the pc.

Then un hook the came and put in the ipod. View the iPod as a harddrive in my computer and then drag the photos from the digi cam to the ipod.
