Now Im infuriated iPod AND iTunes freezing
Recently, everytime I plug in my iPod to update it, the actual iPod freezes and I get the spinning beach ball in iTunes. It sits there and does nothing no matter how long I leave it. It does this whether I plug my iPod in when iTunes is open or if I just plug in my iPod and allow my Mac to recognize it for iTunes to open. When I take the iPod out of the dock I have to reset it to make it at least useable and then iTunes gives me the message "iTunes cannot recognize the contents of the iPod. Please restore the iPod using iPod Software Updater." I have restored it several times to no avail. I can hear hard drive clicking noises when I plug it in but it has always done this and I'm pretty certain that this is normal. Finally, I sent the iPod to Apple and got it back a few days later. I recieved the same iPod back because Apple found nothing wrong with my iPod. Same problem keeps ocurring. So then I brought my iPod to the Genius Bar and the Genius was nice enough to run a few tests and restore it for me and he found nothing wrong with it also. He told me to look at the Mac side of the issues. After going to the store I repaired disk permissions and repaired disk off my Install CD's and the same problem is still ocurring. I called Technical Support and they want me to delete iTunes and reinstall it. I'm completely willing to do this but does this mean I loose all the music in my library.
Someone please help, I will be very grateful!! And keep in mind that SOMETIME'S it will update without a hitch. I'm very confused and tired over the issue... I just wish my iPod would work!
Regards,
Jesse P.
