Just a quick question for you nice folks.

How long does it take to format a 20 Gb Ipod?
I'm using Windows XP service pack 2, and i'm using usb 2.0 as I dont have firewire on my pc.

I tried installing the ipod software and it asked me to connect my ipod to my pc to see if it needs formatting and I did, but i'm kinda worried cause its been awhile now and the screen says "waiting for ipod" and you see the progress bar go from begginning to end and back to begginning again and well you know. All the options such as back, format and cancel are now greyed out. all I have is the "x" in the top corner to close the box if I want to but I just dont want to be hasty and want to be sure that this is normal and that its indeed doing something. Please advise. thanks
