ipod mini battery problem

Hey, I thought this would be a good place to ask this.
I recently got my ipod mini and I love it.
I've had it about a month now.
Well it seems to be wanting to tick me off.
I've taken very very good care of this, not a nick or scartch on it.
Well I come home from school, turn it off and plug it into the wall charger, I leave it on all night. I get on the bus and about 3 minutes later it turns off saying that the battery is dead.
So I took it home after school and slammed it on the charger for a full 4 hours. I turn it back on, and it starts playing. Well the battery meter shows full. But when it dies and I reset it it shows 0.
Whats wrong with this thing?

Try restoring the mini. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983 If that doesn't work, then you will probably have to send it back to Apple...
