Can iPods Handle Jarring Movements?
My friend is looking into an ipod mini over a 20g because he was told that ipods cant be used in jarring activities like biking, running, etc. The guy told him that the mini uses flash memory which can put up with the jerky motions while he rode BMX w/ it while the ipods mini disc drive will crash. is this true?

well first off the ipod mini does not use flash memory it uses a hardrive much like the regular ipod, just a smaller version. From what I've heard the ipod mini can withstand activites like that more. I know people who run with both mini's and iPods, they don't have any problems that I've heard of. It is possible for either players hardrive to crash with all the movement and such, but the chances are unlikely. These things are pretty durable

then minis have no moving parts (correct me it im wrong) so they wont break and easily as the normal ones not saying that ipods break fast but ipod a very rugged

I used to run with my iPod and after a certain amount of time the iPod would skip like for a second or two.
I still run with it but it is on a treadmill and I have the iPod rested where the controls are so there is no movement
