I bought an external hard drive and wanted to use it as my sole iTunes/iPod storage location.

I am on a Mac G4 400mH processor in case that matters.

I read up on it and tried the following.

1. Jus dragging the files from the hard drive to the external hard drive.

2. In iTunes, Preferences/Advanced and then changed the music folder location to a new folder on the external hard drive, then Advanced/Consolodate Music Library.

3. Created a new music folder on the external hard drive and then dragged all the music folders from the internal hard drive to the "Library" in iTunes.

4. Tried 1 and 3 in smaller easier to process batches, even one file at a time.

For all of the above, I have run into the same problem. It will begin to process the transfer, come to a file it does not like, and freeze. I then have to restart. I can delete that troubled file and start the process again, but it inevitably come to another one it does not like. There seems to be no Rhyme or Reason to which files it gets hung up on.

Any help would be appreciated, now I have to go, itunes just came across anohter file it did not like, so I have o restart now...
