Lockup, odd

So, didn't see any topics about this on a quick search, thought I'd just ask: Just tried to install the most recent ipod updater patch onto my Ipod. Haven't updated it before, and got it probably a year and a few months ago (roughly August of 2003) It turned on the apple screen when the updater started, and never 'came back'. Figured it might take some time, went off and left it for about 30 minutes, still doing the same thing, computer's no longer recognizing it as connected, it's not repsonding to touch commands. So I manually reboot it using menu/play, and it reboots into the apple screen. Still there. Let it sit for a while now, tried rebooting it, still no dice. Any help would be nice.

Really, it's still doing this, even after the battery ran out. Just plugged it in after it being dead for a while and it's still stuck. Any help?kroonermanblack at 2007-11-15 13:46:09 >

umm..Make it go into disk slave mode

Ask apple; hopefully you have a 2-year warranty if they need you to send it.

I had to do a boot to get it to even respond to attempts to get it into slave disk mode. But it seemed to get something working. I had to reformat the ipod, since the updater/ephpod/windows all said 'nope, nothing there'.The moral of the story? Don't attempt to use the official update for the hardware you own.
