Need to reformat Computer
Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have to reformat my computer and I would like to use my iPod as a hard drive to store the Itunes file and then put the whole program back onto the PC. Is this a possibility and if not does anyone have any suggestions? I use windows and a Dell Computer. The tutorial gives step by step directions and i'm fine until I get to the following section
"Quit iTunes and then locate the iTunes folder. On a Mac you'll find it in the Music folder in your Home folder. On a PC you'll find it in the My Music folder inside the My Documents folder."
I can't find the "quit" option in itunes, . it just isn't there ,the tool bar on mine is different than the one in the tutorial Therefore I am unable to complete the last step. which is as follows
Copy the iTunes folder to your iPod, eject the iPod
Any alternative methods or ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Welcome to the lounge!!! :D
To quit iTunes go to file\exit - next open 'my computer and check your iPod is listed there - next open xxxx documents(xxxx=whatever it's named on your pc) - my music - right click the iTunes folder then go down the list to 'send to' and your 'pod should be listed there... :) Hope that makes sense/helps :)

Assuming you have a CDRW (bit of a waste of a DVD for such a small file - unless you plan to back up your music collection to it aswell) make sure you have blank media in the drive you plan to use (DVD/CDRW) and in the 'send to' option, instead of selecting your iPod - choose the drive you want to burn it instead.Windows or your supplied drive software (Nero etc) should guide you through the rest. :)
