iPod wont respond to touch

well, here goes my case. i was at my gf's, and i docked my ipod on her computer to charge it. when it was time for me to go, i ejected it, then disconnected it. at the time, the hold switch was on. (from the time it was docked until now)

the hold switch has now been switched to off, and my ipod wont respond to any touch. ive tried the reset (toggle hold switch, menu/play buttons for 10 seconds) and nothing. its a 20gb 3g ipod. about 9 or 10 months old. i tried while connected to the wall adapter and not connected.

it still connects when i plug it in my computer, but when i eject it (hold switch off) it still shows the little lock and after i eject it the lock is still on the screen. then it just turns off like it normally does, and wont turn on again until i connect it to power.

ive searched the forum and nothing has seemed to work, because none of the buttons respond. if anyone has any suggestions, please do tell! i am worried sick here! let alone severely lacking music! i guess i'll let it marinate overnight, and let it think about the torture its causing me. perhaps in the morning all will be well. thank you.

EDIT- i should also add that i have docked an undocked to her computer many times, with no problems at all.

so i let it sit overnight, and its still not talking. so it looks like i'll be doing a complete restore then? seems like that'd be my only option.

but man i dont wanna have it come to that. any other ideas?
