Ipod lagging during menu selection

Is it normal when I select through the menu selection for my 4th Gen ipod to lag in response sometimes?

I guess it depends what you are doing when it lags - if you are spinning up the hard drive there will be a lag, such as when you start playing a song, or if you are accessing the Notes section, it's perfectly normal.swy32x at 2007-11-15 13:46:12 >

My iPod does this as well. When I am browsing Music>Artists>Elvis Presley>All and decide to back up to Artists when I press menu the "backup" animation getts laggy and stalls for a moment. Do all iPods do this or is it maily the 4G?macaddiict at 2007-11-15 13:47:13 >

its because your ipod database is old. i had that before i done a restore and i could scan through menus literally twice as fast as before when i had ipod without restoring for a yearperplex at 2007-11-15 13:48:12 >

Download the latest iPod Updater, plug in your iPod, and click the "Restore" button. Note that you will have to resync all your music.
