Doesn't sound good. I really don't think you can do anything about it. If it is still under warranty, apple might replace but I am not sure what the warranty covers.

Let it completely dry out and also avoid playing around with it may cause more damage. Good luck

MayB leave it in your jean pocket and put it in your dryer?

BTW, that was an accidental thing, so apple wont replace it...
You could probably say (if its new) that when apple shipped it, there was already water in the box...

That would be the wrong thing to do. It was an accident, it happens but that doesn't mean that you should use a lie like that at the expense of apple. That is considered fraud.

yeah, don't fraud apple that's just not cool. I wouldn't suggest doing that. It's wrong and if you're caught you could get in BIG trouble.

I don't think the technicians over there at Apple are stupid enough to believe it came like that in the box...lol unless you get really luck...don't fraud Apple....maybe Best Buy or Circuit City, so you can trade in your 3G for a 4G with an Extended Warranty lol...but not Apple.

If you tried to turn it on, you probably fried it on your first try.. The correct thing to o would have been NOTHING for a week or 2, and then turn it on. It likely would have worked.. Often, water does not damage electronics... It's having power in them while wet that causes a short... Needless to say, it's Apple or bust right now.

Wow. I don't mean to be mean or anything, cause that really sucks about your iPod...

But leaving it in your pocket and then washing it is pretty high up there...

I didn't realize that could be done...

was there soap in the washer cuz if there was, there is no hope, if there was none just let it dry... maybe it will work. or send it to apple and get it repaired for $50-$100 (its better than spending $250 on a new one)

I don't think you'll have much hope :(

Usually with mobile phones which go through water, it's possible to save them by removing the battery ASAP and leaving it to dry for a few days at least without turning it on or anything.

The fact that the iPod's battery is internal and non-removable makes it quite likley that you're not going to be able to recover it by yourself. The soap can't do it any good either.

I would suggest leaving it off for a few days minimum to dry without turning it on (you'll fry it otherwise) and see how you go.
