Custom Paint Job
I hope this inspires people to be a little creative when it comes to that shiney metal back...
# 1 Re: Custom Paint Job
That's sweet! Is the front still plain or have you painted it to match?

# 3 Re: Custom Paint Job
Awesome job! Did you apply a protective clear-coat layer over the paint?

Polyurethane or some clear epoxy should work.
# 12 Re: Custom Paint Job
I'm hoping you did adequate surface prepration (etched the stainless surface) otherwise that nice paint job will flake off within a month.

thanks!
used spray paint for the background, paint markers for the notes and the guitar, definately put a top coat on to seal everything. its been almost 2 months since i did it and looks the same as the first day! no scratches!

Very cool. You have an obvious artistic ability. You should set up a website and customize peoples' iPod backs for a fee! You could really rake in the dough. I know I'd get mine done.
# 22 Re: Custom Paint Job
That thing is saweet! Great job dude, how long did it take you?
# 23 Re: Custom Paint Job
have you painted the front of your ipod?
# 24 Re: Custom Paint Job
wow that's cool now if only I was that artistic ;)
# 25 Re: Custom Paint Job
no i havent painted the front, too risky... but anyways, i think everyone should just bust out the spray paint and give it a shot!
# 26 Re: Custom Paint Job

# 27 Re: Custom Paint Job
