totally dead

Disaster! My iPod has inexplicably gone dead. I wasn't having any trouble with the battery. In the middle of playing it, the sound dropped out and I couldn't disable the locked mode. I put it in my bag to deal with later, and an hour later the screen had gone blank. I can't do anything with it now. I don't get any display on the screen, no response from any of the keys on the scroll wheel, and it won't respond to charging.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm out of warranty. Do you think I'm just totally screwed now?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe not...... the first step is:

Your iPod won't turn on
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60942

At that article, "Reset iPod" and "Let iPod's battery drain" in particular.

i had this happen... what i did was smal it on my palm like im packing a pack of cigs ( no i dont smoke). I dont really sugest this, cause you might #### it up. try at your OWN RISK. but that worked for me... good luck, my friend.

Thanks for the replies. None of this works. I think I'm going to have to suck it up and take it in to the store when I get back to London. If I get any insight after that, I'll post it here.
