wheel sensitivity
Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. My tuning wheel used to work normally, now it is super sensitive. I barely have my finger on it and its flying through the menus. It is actually extremely difficult to adjust volume or scroll through a playlist with out jumping far ahead or behind.
Has anyone else noticed this?
I didn't notice a "wheel sensitivity" setting in any of the menus, but I feel like that's what I need.
thanks in advance for any tips,
-todd

What are you talking about? This is an ipod mini problem, posted in the "ipod mini problem" forum??? I'll chalk it up as an automated response or miscommunication...or over policing of the forum.
Anyway,
anyone have this problem with the wheel being too sensitive?
Is this a return to apple type of problem or just a dirty wheel? (I'm hoping there is some obvious setting I'm just missing...sure is a bad time to have to send my mini in for service, though)
thanks,
-todd

Try resetting your iPod:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705
As far as the "Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you." phrase, that is automatically placed in the message box to remind everyone that they need to think about where the message should be posted before blindly posting everything in the iPod >> General forum. It's usually removed automatically as soon as you click in that window to type your message. But if you preview the message before posting it, it sometimes appears in the final message.

I think that's a bug in the forums. You'll notice that when you go to post a new thread, the message field is pre-loaded with that exact text. It disappears when you click the field to enter your message, but I don't think it really disappears and gets submitted along with your message when you post.
Possibly related to Firefox/Mozilla as those are the browsers I use when I notice that happening to me.

I have had similar problems with the click wheel, when you press forward or reverse, instead of going a little further or back it skips to the next song/book in the playlist. I have reset the iPod and that works but after a few days the problem repeats itself. Other than this problem, no issues and almost fearful to have it replaced with a possibly more finicky iPod. By the way, mine is almost one year old and I do have the Apple care plan, so not worried about it being covered.

I also noticed very annoying sensitivity-every time I try to adjust the volume, it fast forwards or rewinds to another song. It got much worse after I removed the clear plastic sticky thing that came covering the wheel. I am going to try the re-set suggestion.
