Stupid iTrip mini question.
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but here goes;
Can the iTrip mini play on stations currently broadcasting a signal?
For example, if my sister is listening to her favourite country station, Y101.1, can I set my iTrip's station to 101.1 and hijack the radio from her so it will play my mini's music instead of that station's country?
Thanks in advance, as I'm sure I just missed something when I read about it.

I'm going to say no, since the station that is broadcasting has a MUCH higher power antenna then the iTrip so no it's not possible, and besides if the itrip will capable of this, the FCC prolly would not allow it to be sold. It would make pirate radio all that much easier to start. I took a radio class so I'd know :D

Damn.
I was planning on taking over the school radio at lunch and blasting recorded porno music.:p
Oh well, it still seems like a great purchase. Can't wait until Christmas...

Technically, it CAN do this, and this is a big part of the reason the iTrip is supposedly banned in Europe (this is still true, right?). The only problem is, the signal may be relatively weak compared to the radio station, so the country music may bleed through occasionally (or all the time). It's worth a try when you get it. If the signal is too weak, I also know that you can strengthen the iTrip's antenna by opening it up somehow. I forget the procedure, but if you run a search, you should be able to find it.

My friend tried taking over 97.1 WLIT (a Chicago station)@ my work, and while walking around, his ipod effectively played over the radio station, it worked 100 feet in all directions...
ON a side note, we tried to take over the Dunkin Donuts radio late one night, but they wouldnt even tell us their radio station because "the special radio room is locked 24/7"!!?? lol
