iTrip and Toronto

I read reviews of iTrip and know that it may not work that well in a metropolitan area where radio stations saturate.
Any iTrip user in Toronto, Canada? What's your take on the usability of the product. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

I've had my iTrip for about a week now and am not very happy with the performance. I live in midtown Toronto and work out by the airport. While there are times when the iTirp works well, I regulary get FM interference as I drive around town. I have tried a number of different frequencies, all with the same poor result. Even without the interference, the sound quality isn't great (just seems to be missing something).

I am looking at alternatives. Specifically connecting to my car sterio via the CD changer interface. There are a few gizmos on the market specifically for this purpose.

I live out near the Airport (Kipling & Eglinton), and I have a really hard time finding available bandwidth anywhere on the dial. I frequently travel around town, and about the only place I've ever had any luck is north of the 407.

I use a cassette adapter for the most part. I really only purchased the iTrip for when I'm driving other vehicles that may not have a cassette deck in them (in which case, I'm usually driving out of town so it's less of an issue).

According to the iTrip documentation, you need to find a radio station that is completely "clean", and it's even better if you can find one that has no strong signals on either side of it. So frankly, if you turn on your car radio and can't find one, then that would probably answer your question.

iTrip is great product

i live in Toronto and need to commute from Scarborough to Mississauga every
weekday. I use iTrip sometimes but so far I havent' had any big problems.

Receiving signals is ok.
Yes sometimes its hard to receive a good signal. But once you fond the clean
station (mine is set to 104.9), it's all set to go.

What route do you normally take? The 401?

Actually, 104.9 was the best one that I could find as well. Lately I've actually discovered that it doesn't work too badly up in the 407/404 area, but I haven't had much luck around my neighbourhood or downtown.

yes i'm driving mostly on 401

signals in your neigbhound i'm not too sure
but i did try this in downtown and it worked great that night

since iTrip's only a FM transmitter, i don't expect that much.
the only thing i don't like is sound quality again

if you still have trouble receiving your signals, i suggest you
to connect your iPod in your car

(something i want to do, but don't know how)
