Ok, let me start of by explaining my situation...

I recently ordered a 20 gb ipod for christmas. I mainly want to use this in the car, but still be able to take it out and use it fine.

Anyways, right now i have an old 95 toyota 4runner
Probably around April or May, i will be getting a new car for sure (new used car...)

So my question is, what should i get to connect my ipod to my car?

Right now in my 4runner i have some really cheap sony head unit that does not have aux connections. Also no tape deck either.

So my options would be either to get an fm transmitter or get a new head unit.

1) is the quality of the fm transmitter acceptable (i live in a suburban area like 15 mins outside of atlanta)
2) if i got a new head unit, should i get a respectable unit such as an alpine, and then buy the aux connection cable. OR, would it be better to get the AIWA head unit with the front aux input.
(keep in mind i want to have the best quality sound for the cheapest price)

So if the fm transmitter is acceptable, i could use that until i got my new car, and would figure out what i would need to connect the ipod through a wire later.

However if it is not acceptable, then i would have to buy a headunit now, and then switch that over to the new car.

So basically, overall, should i get a temporary fm transmitter or just get a new head unit now? (i could potentially save money if the new car has a decent head unit that just needs an aux cable, but i wont know til i start shopping for it...)
