Need advice for using iPod in rental cars

Hi all, I travel a lot for work and most of the time I'm fortunate enough to be in a city that has a decent radio station, but not this time. The stations here drive me nuts. Since I'm in a different rental car each week, what would be a good choice for me that can easily be switched between cars. I think my only option is an FM transmittor, since rental cars don't have stereo inputs or cassette players. Is that a correct assumption? Is the quality decent enough to justify the money?

Oh and it's a 3G ipod.

I'm using the iTrip in the UK with a hire car almost every week. Not much else you can do as you can't rely on cars having anything other than a dash CD these days and I've never seen one with an aux input up front.

iTrip is OK but I'm using a frequency (87.7) that technically isn't used in the UK but nearly all radios can go down to (FM here stops at 88.0).
