I just bought a Belkin Auto Kit for my 2000 Jetta. I connect the audio from the adapter (in the head of the cigarette plug) directly to the mini jack in the face of my stereo. But after about 5 minutes, the sound will cut out for a half second about every 5 seconds. I thought it was broken so I replaced it. The new one does exactly the same thing. Also, when I pull out the adadpter, it's hot. This makes me think that my car is giving it too much power anc causing it to shut down before it overloads. But I've plugged any number of power hungry adapters into my car with no problem. Is it my car or the adapter and how can I fix this? Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks for the help!
