Best Head Unit to use with Dension ICELINK

I just got off the phone from the Dension ICELINK people, and sadly, they do not support my Nissan. I knew this, but just wanted to confirm it. Well, I am now going to have to get a new headunit. So the guy told me to go w/ either Sony or Kenwood, one with the ID3 Tag support, so the song will show up on the screen. That would be kick ###. Any ideas? Anything! Thanks

Yeah, I'm thinng either a sony model or a kenwood model....

No seriously I think you should get a cd player hats capable of playing MP3 cds... then your never out of luck. I like the sonys that hve the full screen display and show no buttons on the screen side. Got to have a nice small thin remote too.

Why would I need one that plays Mp3's? I have an iPod, so that basically all the music I need. So yes, I like your ideas, but any exact model numbers. My specialty is not headunites. Thanks

Actually, if you are going to be going with a new head unit - you should get an Alpine and use their Ipod contol unit. I'm using an Icelink with my factory radio and have had nothing but success, but if I were going aftermarket, Alpine would be at the top of my list.

Yes, but alpine's are so expensive, plus the unit. Also, with the new alpine thing, it is gonna be the head unit, plus the KC 420i, does it even come w/ a cradle? I know the Dension Does not but still, I like the concept better. Also, for the 420i, does that limit control of only the headunit and not the ipod? Thanks.

I think that your cost will be similar either way. If you go the Alpine route, you are looking at $230 for the head unit plus $100 for the iPod interface. Going the Sony/Kenwood route, you are looking at $100+ for the head unit and $200 for the Icelink. The Icelink dock is a nice feature, but leaves the iPod in plain sight for thieves.

But with the alpine way, you loose control of the ipod, don't you? It's all in the headunit? That would get really annoying. And most of the time, I'll be taking my iPod with me, or I have a double din head unit currently, so with the extra space, Ill get a compartment put in there and just put the iPod in there to hide from thieves! ANY HEAD UNIT MODELS TO LOOK FOR?
