iPod Hacking

I read yesteday that someone figured out how to access and change the firmware in the ipod. Unfortunately, this was only on a PC. Is there a way to do this on the Mac? Has anyone figured this out?

To my knowledge that Linux hack is PC only. This is mostly old news. The iPod was originally hacked almost two years back. What's new is the availability of a convenient application for your PC to do the hack.

The engadget article you speak of only changes the firmware's pictures when you sync yon iPod.

Not that I know of, but I read in the iPodlounge News bit that someone is trying to port it to Mac.
