Too noisy outside to hear!

Just got myself a 40gig 4th gen iPod and very please! But when I go out into town, I have difficulty hearing the audiobooks I listen to because of traffic noise, pedestrians, wind etc.

What solutions do you recommend? Is it a case of getting new headphones? If so, what about Sony MDR-EX71SLB Fontopia Headphones?

I am based in the UK.

Ear buds (of any type) won't block ambient noise...... great for quiet home use though. You want in-ear head phones..... of which there are many and varying quality. The Sony's have the stupid asymmetrical cord that drives many of us nuts (which is why mine sit in the drawer most of the time). Take a look at the reviews section here at the iPod lounge and you will find a good selection of in-ear's to pick from.

The ER?6i Isolator earphones seem pretty good. Has anyone hear got a pair and how good are they compared with the standard iPod headphones?
