can you change the bit rate of songs? make them higher? if so, how

yes, you can but that's not going to make the songs sound any better. Once the songs have been compressed there's no way to uncompress them, without re-ripping the originals. I mean it's possible to give them a higher bitrate, but you're not going to improve quality and at the same time you're taking up more hardrive space.

you need to re-rip your songs if you want it at a higher bit-rate. If you upconvert from an mp3, you will actually lose sound quality.

You need to re-rip to a higher bitrate from CD.

it's what we call Importing, basically you're ripping the data/songs from the cd, if you need any more info, do a google :)

if you downloaded your songs from the net, there isn't a way to upconvert the bitrate just so you know
