I have quite a few (upwards of 5000) uncompressed WAV files I want to convert to AAC. The files use this naming convention:

Artist - Song Title.WAV

I'd like to know if anybody has an Applescript or some other utility that I could use that would automatically take the file name and use it to derive an iTunes-compatible tag for Song Name and Artist. I looked through the download section here and read a bunch of help files (and a couple of iTunes books), to no avail.

I'd take a Windows program if I have to, but ideally, I'd rather do it in Mac OSX.
