the toilet drop
ahhhhhhhh...
Yes, it happened to me, not 10 minutes ago. It could happen to you! Don't even bring it into the dreaded room of ipod killing water mouthed porcelain. I can't believe it happen to me.
I just dropped my iPod, into the toilet. And I can only pray that it will return to life when it dries out. It must hate me. I ran back to my room, grabbed a pocket knife (no time to find the cruddy plastic opener that came with the battery replacement) and pried open the side of the iPod. As I was beginning my surgery I could here the hard drive trying to spin to life, but there hadn't even been a pixel of black on the screen since it came in contact with the water. And now it sits, in pieces on my desk just waiting to dry.
Any suggestions pass them my way. I can't be the first this has happened to, although lets hope I'm the last.
WILL MY IPOD EVER SING TO ME AGAIN???

ROFL!!! Sorry about the iPod but the story just rocks, and the second post does too...hahahaha.
Also I don't have any information on how to fix it, your post was just hilarious

The doctor (yours truly) has decided it wise to ensure the patient is completely dried out before attempting to bring it back to the electronic beauty it once was. At this time there are no signs of permanent damage although the effects to the brain and nervous system (hdd / connections) can't be completely known until the iPod is put back together.
We'll see what happens in the A.M. after my physics final (although I'll have to try really hard to not be thinking about the poor thing the entire time). Keep your fingers crossed everyone.
And know there was never an fecal matter is contact with the iPod or my hand (sadly for all of your amusement) or even any ammonia for that matter. The iPod slipped out of my pants pockets (because I had the ear buds in) as I pulled down my jeans. (I still haven?t had the bowel movement I started out for, must be in shock still).

Hehe.. well my science teacher once told me that flushed toilets can be much more hygenic than kitchen sinks due to the 'good' bacteria that resides in the toilet or something.
Anyways, that sucks. :(
I don't know how I would cope to have my iPod take a dip in the loo. :\

iPod: 1
porcelain water monster: 0
Came back from my physics final this morning and put the iPod back together. As I was putting it together I noticed 2 things, 1 there is now somehting lose inside the iPod that jiggles a little and 2 the battery connection doesnt fit all the way backon (probably corrosion).
So I snap the case back together, flip the hold swith over and...
nothing
a slight scream of agony may have escaped my dorm room at this point, whatever happend. Prayers were answered. The battery must have been drained durring the incident (probably from the contact with the water) so when I plugged the iPod back in it turned right on (with a much longer delay at the apple logo, heart wrenching but @least it works). So it's charging now, and I'm just hoping the battery (brand new, just replaced it a few weeks ago) hold a charge. If not I don't think I'll even buy a new battery at this point. But let's hope it all works and I dont have to scrounge up the money over the next 6 months for a new iPod.
... and everyone lived happily ever after [or so they thought]
