How do you know when the battery is fully charged? It just flashes charging forever..

When it stops flashing and says "Charged", you'll know it's fully charged.

My iPod never says "Charged" if it is charged using the AC Adapter, but if I connect it to my computer to synch some new songs to my iPod and it was charged using the AC Adapter, then after connecting it via USB, it says Charged but when I connect it to the AC Adapter, it doesnt and never ever said "Charged". It keeps saying Charging or w/e and the battery keeps blinking.

I pull the iPod off the dock sometimes after a while and when i see the bar is full green i stop, are you saying i should leave it charging until it says Charged - does it matter whether i use usb or firewire?

I would leave it on the dock and I would also count how many hours it has been in the dock. Usually, when charging it on the dock, your iPod wont say "Charged" cause mine doesnt, it only says it when charged on my computer, maybe its just my iPod. But leave it on the dock for about or no more than 5.5 hours then it should be fully charged since it only takes 5 hours to fully charge the iPod. 2 hours for 80% capacity.

Mine NEVER ever says charged either, I just leave it in there and take it out and its 100% full on the battery icon

mine will say charged... Try leaving it plugged into the ac adapter for a few hours!
