Losing my place in music playing

When listening to music on my iPod photo, I pause my song and playlist and then go to look at photos. When I come back to my music, I have to start the playlist all over. Is there any way of retaining my place in the playlist?

Why do I ask? It's my mission to listen to all of the songs on my iPod before the end of the year (and I'm sick of having to start over!)

No, because in essence, I would be starting the playlist over--just from that point, that of the song of my choosing. A good way of describing the situation is that it clears the history of the playlist, thus creating "starting over."

Do you actually need to pause the playlist to look at the photos?

Go to the main menu, and now playing, then play from there.

As ipod upod questioned...you DO NOT need to pause to look at pictures. You can do it while listening to music, but if you do pause, just go to "now playing" then hit play, and you should be fine.
