pc and express card slots in macbooks

why do they not have any? do you see this in future upgrades? pc manufacturers have them in much cheaper machines

Because those PC notebooks usually are much larger (15.4" screen) and much thicker. Also consider the fact that this is about the only difference (apart from screen size) between the Pro and the consumer notebook models.

There were PC card slots in every PowerBook (except 12" PB that was basically a iBook) and the iBooks didn't have them. Apple is doing this since about 2000 and will probably not change it, ever.
