iTunes

Does one have to have Airport Extreme to wirelessly transmit music with Airport Express or can you use any router like say Linksys.

Uh, you mean, to boost the range of the AirTunes?

No, you have to use an AirPort Extreme.

I am using my computer to send music via iTunes to my stereo using airport express which is plugged into the stereo--wirelessly--I have an Airport Extreme

I have another airport express that I want to lend to a friend to do the same--but she has a Linksys router--

Will this work?--or must she have an Airport Extreme as her router too?

My dad uses a linksys router as his primary base station. He has bought an airport express and has added it to the network. He can stream music via airtunes without any trouble. I think he needed to configure it for WDS.
