This is getting frustrating. I just got a 5g ipod and I am trying to convert some avi's that I have. The videos are in 16:9 format. I tried converting with quicktime, isquint and vidiup. With all the different options I always have the same result.

An mp4 file which looks perfect when I play it in quicktime. The aspect ratio is correct and everything. When I play it on my ipod, it's sqeezed into 4:3. When I turn on the "widescreen" option in the ipod, it does make a letterbox, but only a little bit, the video is still stretched vertically.

What am I doing wrong?? What do I need to do in order to convert video so that it will letterbox correctly to 16:9 on my ipod.
