Louis Theroux Meets Fred Phelps

This should be a laugh...Theroux has been living with the Phelps family for a month and soon will be showing the documentary. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/6507971.stm)

Strangely he doesn't seem to find them that odd....apart from the picketing and the 'God hates Fags' placards....seems to think they are just a normal family...

What's this? Singling out examples of "misbehavior" in a specific group for ideological reasons while ignoring or even acting as an apologist for similar or far worse behavior within the group or groups one is allied with?

Scary program but all too familiar. It really shows the damage it does to their kids. You could see one of the girls wanted to live a normal life deep down and was always close to breaking down when asked about friendship and relationships. I was brought up with many of the same teachings, though slightly less outspoken. It's very hard to break free from it when you have it drilled into you on a daily basis for years since the time you are old enough to talk let alone understand what it is you are supposed to be testifying to. That kind of grooming shouldn't be tolerated.
