single click is a double click

It seems that my single click is coming up as a double click sometimes. It happens on my MacBook with all the latest updates. It happens system wide and not all the time. It happens both on the trackpad mouse click and the UBS mouse that I plug in. So it's not hardware. I've use USB Overdrive for a long time and the settings haven't changed.

Anyone heard of this? Hints? Troubleshoots?

Check the settings in System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse to see if the Single Click or Double click is set there.

Yea I did all that and trashed pref's and ... it now seems that it is was USB mouse all along. :embarrass

I'm looking for a bluetooth mouse but none of them seem very good.

Tried the wireless MightyMouse?

People don't seem to like it. There doesn't seem to be any smashing bluetooth mice out there. I may end up with a logitech one because I like all their other stuff.

Any suggestions?

I quite like the Wireless Mighty mouse, but to be honest, I always find the lack of a wire somewhat disorientating... Who wants a mouse without a tail anyway?
