Address Book Oddity

Can someone confirm this in Tiger?

1. Make sure the template in Address Book (Preferences->Template) for your names has First, Last, Middle, Prefix, and Suffix selected.

2. Enter a name in Address Book that has a middle initial, a prefix, and a suffix. For example, "Dr. Michael K. Lindsay MD".

3. Under Preferences->General in Address Book, set Display Order to the second radio button, "Last Name First Name".

Result:

The display in the person's card is correct -- "Dr. Lindsay Michael K. MD"

BUG: In the list of entries on the left, the name will appear as "Dr. Lindsay Michael MD K." rather than "Dr. Lindsay Michael K. MD".

Does everybody get this result? I filed a bug report but Apple hasn't said anything about it yet.

OK, I tried it as per your example, with exactly the same results. I think it would also be nice if Address Book would insert a common after the last name when it reverses the order.

I agree. I don't know why Apple thinks this is not a bug.

Thanks for confirming it.
