Powerbook 1400C

I have an old 1400c that has suddenly seemed to crapped out. On startup it will do the usual grey screen with the pointer for about 5 seconds, then give a very bad sounding four note tune as it goes to a black screen with a sad mac. The following is under the sad mac:

0000000F
00000001

Ive tryed starting from the CD with no luck. Anyone know what could be going on here?

Uh oh...sounds like the death chime.

Those numbers are very important...could mean anything from crapped mobo to just bad RAM placement or something. Now where did I put Mac Secrets?

I'll buy it from you for $10. :)

If you have the internal video out card for it I would buy that off you. Not sure what the problem is, if it doesn't work and you don't want it I would take it just for troubleshooting, learning, and parts ... let me know.

I wouldn't rule out a failure in the logic board. Take it to an authorized service department (i.e. NOT CompUSA). Most will diagnose a problem and repair it for $65 plus the cost of parts (logic boards can be expensive though :( ).
