Just looking for more than "stupid".
I'm a sucker for movies about people with down's syndrome, I guess. I love Sean Penn, too, and that little girl looks great.
Monsters Inc. was great. The opening credits were classic.

Yeh, Sean Penn doesn't seem up to the task of playing a retard. Dustin Hoffman as a savant in Rain Man and as a "who knows what" in Awakenings comes to mind as better performances.
I also don't get why Sean Penn was on Friends the other night. He's supposedly against such things...Survivor hatred?

It could be a sentimental tear-jerker or it could be a good film (or, I suppose, it could be both); it's hard to tell from the trailer.
I like Pfeiffer as an actress, so that's one reason to see the film. The kid looks capable, too. I hope the film is paced as well as the trailer.
Thanks for the recommendation, 'rat.
