Change color on startup?

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the blue background on OS X to something else? I have a theme going and the blue just doesnt work. Thanks for any info.

1)Click on the Apple menu
2)Select "System Preferences..."
3)Under "Personal," click "Desktop"

He means the blue background during startup.

yes, I would like to change the blue background behind the startup screen because I am changing the startup screen to something different and blue just doesn't look right. Thanks for any help.
