Diablo II on new imac

I'm trying to play diablo 2 on a new graphite imac. it should play well, but it lags very badly. any suggestions on how to make it better. thanks.

Which OS? 9 or X?Do you have all of the patches to Diablo? Are you running the Expansion Set?
There is a known issue with the latest ATI drivers and Diablo II. Blizzard is working on it.

Like he said, it could be a driver issue.I can tell you that it is NOT a hardware issue. Diablo II and Diablo II Exp plays very well on my system, and I'm using a 2 yr old Pismo PowerBook.

If you're playing in OS X, it's going to be slow. That's because it runs under Classic. Try turning off 3D effects and see if that helps any.Hopefully they'll release a Carbon version soon. I really want to get back into playing it again, but I'm determined to stay in OS X unless I have to reboot for installers and such (Starcraft refused to install from Classic).
