Hard drive question
Has anyone changed the settings for the iPod's hard drive via the "Device Manager" under the Policies it has 2 choices, "Optimize for quick removal" and "Optimize for performance" and when "Optimize for performance" is checked it gives you the choice to enable the "write caching on the disk". What i'm wonder is if this will in anyway damage the iPod if I were to enable the "write caching on the disk"?

Write caching actually creates temporary files on the HD and only
permenately writes them when you "stop the device" or shut down your computer. Not a good idea if you use iTunes to auto sync your ipod. If you were to remove the ipod from the cradle without first stopping the device then the music you just transferred would not show up on the ipod (or worse, it might corrupt the database)

Don't do it ;-)
